It seems that, in these past couple of weeks, I've been given quite the amount of luck when it comes to finding good furniture. The day of Black Friday-

Well, let me clear one thing up. When I deliver papers on Friday, it's in one of the richer places in my area. They're the types that throw out perfectly good furniture, from couches, bedframes, china cabinets, vanities, and dressers, out for the latest styles that they can get for cheap. So we tend to see things out on the curb on Black Friday, around New Years, and at some point in the Spring.

On Black Friday I found this small side-table cabinet that you'd see in a living room. Nothing wrong with it, save for a bit of laminating coming up, and it's in one of those designs that require real, good, wood, that's not made anymore. I liked the shape, it caught my eye, so I ended up grabbing it. Now, while I was afraid of it not fitting where I was planning on stashing the small cabinet table, after taking the knobs off of a drawer on my bed that I never use, it fit perfectly. So I put shipping supplies in there, and had a new place to lean on.

This Friday we were doing the route, and automatically passing one house, my eye caught this black trunk. Like one of those older-styled trunks that would be placed at the end of a bed. After getting more papers cleared out, I took a look at it. No real stains, and the worst damage was the leather covering being torn at one corner, and a little gunk on the back. Inside was clear, and nothing for lining at the time.

Know what I think it'd be perfect for? Cosplay supplies, the cosplays themselves, and if I get some wheels to screw and bolt in there, with the handles I'll only have to bring that one piece of luggage around with me. If I go to Lowes, I'll probably end up finding something good to stick for lining as well.

Recently, I was able to find Anna Tsuchiya's latest album (Nudy Show,) Kanon Wakeshima's single (Skip, Turn, Step? Or is Suna no Oshura the latest?), and Olivia Lufkin's latest mini-album called Trinka Trinka.

I'm also happy on one other thing. Though the chances are high that I have PCOS, which does make it hard to lose weight, and half the women with it end up overweight/obese, I have been losing. It's gradual, but I'm definitey making progress on a visual level. My niece, who had married around Thanksgiving, was even surprised. Then again, this also had reminded her of my late father, in that with the thinner I've gotten, I look quite the amount more like him than my mother.

I don't know, I've been working hard, so I think I'm being rewarded with the holiday season coming on through. I just want this to keep coming in.

So I'll continue working hard, and when Census comes around, I'll be applying for a job there as well. Due to the economy, and the fact that I'm not part Latino, (which shouldn't matter legally, but it does with the population in my area,) it's become more difficult to get a job.

Ah, and I'm trying to work on something art-wise that's not design doodles. I hope it's an improvement, despite how long it's been since I've drawn anything.

So, for the first time in a while, I've started to get sick in a way that I'm not used to. Headaches, which have messed up my sleeping schedule, fluctuating temperatures, and now my throat locks up when I try to gargle even a small amount of plain water. In fact, it's hard to swallow in general. Then there's your average dizzy spells, difficulty concentrating, and the like.

Not fun. Not fun at all.

That, and I think Paypal hates me. It's doing this huge 'fuck you' from the web. I was trying to get a dress, for a wedding next month. I pay, everything is in order. In fact, I get the receipt of completed payment. Everything on my side says the transaction was finished successfully. A week later? The people email me about not receiving payment. Apparently the thing is still under 'review.' o.O I 'submitted a ticket' to Paypal to ask about it, and it's a few days later with no reply. Anyone else feel that huge middle finger?

Now, for less grim updates.

I have a new tablet! While others like to go on about how Vista sucks, I'm the lazy type that doesn't want to go through a huge downgrade. That, and things work out fine for me in general. The only issue was that my tablet wasn't working! This was a year ago, with the first tablet I have that's meant for systems like XP. In fact, that tablet came out before Visa, if I recall correctly.

I went to Newegg.com, expecting little result. Though I did find a tablet of my own kind of comforting style. One that wasn't too far from the original I had. This was the Genius G-Pen F610. Even better? The thing was on sale, and with free shipping! To cover my ass, and prevent a loss of money, I checked other places for their prices. I even went to eBay. Combining shipping costs, and taxes, nothing was beating Newegg.

So I purchased that tablet on a Thursday. On Monday, it had arrived at my door. Inside I heard something give a small 'huzzah!' It didn't impress my conscious one bit, for we both knew something. It'd been well over a year since I've drawn anything digitally! So came out the tablet, and on went with the exercise.

Naturally, I went about whoring this information to the dA community, via a journal few would actually read. What they don't know is that I never updated the progress after that. I didn't want to show how much more my technique had changed.

So now you people get to share in my woes, as this information is glanced over with little care.

Oh, yes. I also have a new obsession in the song category. If anyone has watched Vampire Knight, there is a wonderful ending theme. The song is Still Alive, which says the artist is Kanon Wakeshima alone, but it's a project also worked on by Mana. Still, Kanon's cello skills are amazing. That, and this song is entirely haunting. Some people that don't even like Japanese music liked the song/artist simply because of the feel and cello skills. If you search on YouTube, you'll see the PV's for yourself. Or... How about this?

Alright, now I'm seriously done. Buh bye!

Hey everyone, nice to be back and everything. Oh shit... Hold on! *runs off*

*comes back* Screw that, I'll just room into someone else's reservation. It's too much of a pain to handle that myself. *nods determinedly* This is all about Otakon 2007, which is from July 20th - 22nd.

Anyways, on to the Otakon report, starting from Thursday!

Thursday
It all started when my ride was late in picking me up. Not by much, but they didn't arrive at the property till the time when I was hoping to actually leave. Due to that, we skipped over breakfast completely. They were lucky that I thought ahead enough to come up with my own food and drink, meant for the weekend itself.
Maybe it was around 1:30 when I finally arrived at the Wyndham, checked in, and gathered up at the room with those whom already arrived. Those that weren't there yet could just go about picking up their room key at the desk, as I had all of their names ready and everything. Afterwards, I called Jin Moon to make sure she was at the hotel. Good thing she was, and thus I went over to the Renaissance in the worst kind of footwear possible in a city; Flip flops.
My feet were aching, but we rejoiced in a hug while I tried on my Blue costume. A bit short, but I already had the perfect shorts to go along with the coat. It was better than a skirt, too, because no matter how thin my thighs would get, my legs go in a way so that they're always against eachother. Thus the safety with shorts. Upon returning to my hotel, I found something horrible. Both feet, at the padding up by the toes no less, was blistered to the point that the skin was gone and raw with some blood.
It was then time for pre-reg pick up, while trying out the Blue cosplay. Boots and everything, with the life savor of comfort soles already placed in them. I was 'suffering' but also tolerating a heat exhaustion episode, thanks to sitting down in a very cool corner and not throwing up. The rest of the day was spent watching Gatchamon, Tank Police, and G Gundam.

Friday
Friday... I woke up early, to iron out the Muraki clothes and actually get ready. Even after all of that, I was basically late for, though not by much. With the blisters, I was having trouble walking around a lot. The Yami no Matsuei photoshoot had another Muraki, Hisoka, Tsuzuki's and even a Touda! One of the pictures was even a Muraki on Muraki shot.
Then, naturally for me, it was time for LARPing. I had gotten my character, talked with some others, and went about LARPing from 4PM to 1:30AM. Upon returning to the hotel, we watched more Gatchamon, and then a bit of Evangelion.

Saturday
The pain from the blisters was getting to the point that I was near screaming. I didn't, but that's only because of how stubborn I was. Due to the blisters, I LARPed, but ended up missing all of my photoshoot opportunities. At least in the LARP, I was able to harass people as Muraki. xD That, and told Sephiroth the following:
"Jenova sucks.
Cloud Pwns.
We all know that your masamune is over compensation."
Thus sparked the existance of Writer X in the LARP, which was a moogle the whole time.
Upon getting back to the hotel, we spent the night watching Full Metal Panic; The first, and not the others. And just so you know, the whole time we watched anime, we were making jokes about it all, and pointing out every single fan service.
Also, today I was able to head down to Artists Alley. Saw the Akabane from Anime Boston's Dating Game, and something even greater. I was able to give Mookie my fanart shirt. He actually liked it, and I learned why there were never normal Dominic Deegan shirts with the site on his site; he never liked the site being everywhere. But apparently he liked what I had done. Possibly because the site name was small and up at the neck without blocking out the art. That, and it meant his lady friend would have a night shirt now. xD Hey, you know how us girls like wearing the guy's shirts at night for pajamas.

Sunday
Another Blue cosplay day, and Wolf's Rain photoshoot. Really, I was still having trouble walking about, making this very difficult. This even showed with every single damn tiny step. After the shoot, I went to the dealers room and caught up in some of my manga. Not only that, but finally I was able to get something that I couldn't last year; Sai daggers. I've been wanting these for a long time, and finally I had gotten them.
After, we went back to the hotel, watched anime and ate pizza. This was our goodbye party, as the next day everyone whom was left went about heading home. All in all, it was a good group at the hotel, and convention despite certain debilitating issues.

Monday
This isn't just a convention report, but something that scared me. I checked out of the hotel quickly enough, glad that my calculations months before was pretty damn accurate. After a wait, I was picked up and headed home. Thing was... I had plenty of rest, but things were going on in my head. Voices saying things; Hurtful things that I never wanted to hear again. Several things at once, pounding against my head. My mom was upset, thinking she was making me pull alligator tears to have my way, and I was thinking about how it'd be nicer to stab myself.
Actually, it went to the point that I exhausted myself down to sleep, muttering 'shut up' outloud even to the voices. When waking up, they were quietter, and finally we were getting something for my blistered feet.

Now it's Wednesday. The breakdown schizo scare is still... Well, scaring me, to say the least. Ah well, I'll handle it day by day, ne? Still is making me depressed on what everything could mean. *shrugs* I better end this now, before it gets too long, ne?

Ja ne~

Know what's a secret? Considering Mookie doesn't look at this stuff, though he does have a LJ. So, this secret will be kept from the one it's meant to stay hidden from. For Otakon, I will have a hand painted shirt for him, endorsing his web comic. xD I'm a geek, and wanted to get something done. The original design had Dominic's pipe in it, but I went for the 'current' style.
AKA
After he was 'cured' of his smoking habit. Gotta also go through to see if there's a color picture of his crystal ball. If not, I'll just guess and make it black. xD You know, fun fact, obsidian balls are ideal for gazing.

Otakon Room still has a couple of open spots. Actually, as of now, there's still 3 spots open for Thursday-Sunday night. Meaning, we check in on Thursday, and check out Monday. I hope my contacts and other costume arrive before then. *wish wish wish* Well, one I paid for to be finished and to arrive before Otakon, so that should be alright.

Yay me, too. I got the Galerians: Rion soundtrack. The English one, I suppose, because I didn't check to see if the Japanese one was different or anything. It's got a lot of techno and metal in it. I may not listen to those genres a lot, but this is some good stuff. At least watch the movie, based off of the PSX game Galerians, for the music itself. The animation isn't as wonderful, however, and I think only game players will understand it all.

Well, that's all. Ja ne, minna san!
